These have appeared over the last week or so in the Wigan Council areas

They are at lights that have a left turn. The picture I took shows a filter lane but they are on most lights that can be turned left at.
I've never seen these before so guessing they are so Drivers can see Cyclists ?
Called Trixi mirrors I think.
Are they for motorists unable to check their mirrors and blind spots before they pull off from stationary and turn left?
