[Closed] Li-ion battery hissing on discharge - is this normal?

Went out searching for the cat last night with the HID bike light and lithium ion battery and realised that while the light is lit the battery hisses. I know batteries gas while charging - presumably they do the same while discharging?

Batteries definitely shouldn't be venting gas in normal use - either charging or discharging.
