As far as I can tell the difference is a bit of weight weenie-ism in the cable and lever as well as the black coating on the upper tube. Is that it or is there a difference in the quality of the internals? I'm not fussed by a few grams and would rather have the £70 assuming the posts are going to offer the same reliability.

LEV gets Ti and carbon in place of stainless and alu in the saddle clamp.
Lighter remote and cable - sounds daft, but is a fair bit lighter.
LEV allows you to unjust the orientation of the cable entry box in relation to the direction the saddle points - this means you can set up the post to suit the cable routing on your bike rather than accept the stock position that the DX demands.
Also - cable entry box on LEV is alu, and is plastic on DX.

Main upgrade for me is the cable routing freedom that the LEV offers over the DX.

Ok thanks. Think the standard routing works fine based on candodavids bike pics so might just stick with the DX.

Lev DX is rated to 90kg. AFAIK, the Lev has not got a limit.

From PinkBike article comments:-

"Rick-KS (Feb 5, 2013 at 9:56)
Hey guys... thanks for all the great comments about KS. We appreciate the support!! Just wanted to comment on the alleged 90 kg weight limit.... THERE IS NO SUCH WEIGHT LIMIT on our products. Not sure where this silly rumor started, but it is completely false. In fact, the seal "spike" pressure is well above what any human could put on the seat post under any conditions. And if it makes you feel any better, I personally weigh 103 kg, and have been on our posts since day one without incident."

My Lev has not missed a beat ( over 2 years ), but would go for Southpaw lever upgrade, much better than either of the standard ones , if your running 1*10 or 11.

Their lightweight cable is a bit shit. It kept stretching for the first week, and I've gone through all of the barrel adjustment on the remote within a couple of months. The small box it comes packed into also means the housing has kinks every 12cm or so, which haven't come out with time. I'm going to replace it with a standard cable ASAP.

(Apart from that, the seatpost has been great so far)

nach - did you install the light weight cable properly? I haven't suffered with stretch, but it needs to be wrapped around the clamp properly, otherwise it is liable to slip through the grub screw.

I did wrap it as shown in the instructions. Maybe the grub screw needs to be tightened more. Even if that's the case I reckon I'll still swap it though, as it's still kinked, and hardly a worthwhile weight saving on a steel HT 😀
