I always like a picture thread ๐Ÿ™‚ Lets se what you'll be punishing yourself on/riding on at Mountain Mayhem this year. Below is mine, second year/event on it, only change is the tyres which I'm pretty impressed with so far. Reverb will be coming off tonight, not tempting fate putting it through 24hrs costantly covered in mud ๐Ÿ™‚

Then don't post then, either way.

There will be 3000 bikes there, what makes you think they'll be trawling round 20 acres of campsite looking for yours in particular? Or that they'll be able to recognise it under the 20lb of mud that it will acquire within 5 minutes of the first lap? ๐Ÿ˜‰

I made the mistake of fitting new cassette/chain/jockeys and expensive chain rings especially for MM years ago (the only time I've ever been), so yeah, that was an expensive mistake.

If I ever do it again, it will be on a SS with discs, and forks I don't care about.

Same as last year, but with Mud X's on! And a middleburn crankset, but doubt that will make a difference...

Not even built it yet, but it'll have 29" wheels shod in mud tyres and some gears too

A couple of weeks ago, stripped and cleaned. Don't suppose it'll stay like that for long! (Not that it is now, after CYB on Sunday!)

Just been prepping this today...

[img] [/img]

It now has a pair of 1.95" Maxxis Ignitors on though (and Bonty Mud X's and Trailrakers on standby courtesy of riding buddies). Also got a 100mm stem and some narrower carbon bars that I'm gonna chuck on for Mayhem that I've randomly acquired of late.

I made the mistake of fitting new cassette/chain/jockeys and expensive chain rings especially for MM years ago (the only time I've ever been), so yeah, that was an expensive mistake.

If I ever do it again, it will be on a SS with discs, and forks I don't care about.

Bought new hub bearings the other day, before the recent downpour. Glad I didn't get round to fitting them, as it would have been a bit of a waste! As it is, for now, I've just popped the seals on the old ones, cleaned em out a bit, and filled full of fresh grease to try and prolong them a bit. Will fit the new ones after Mayhem.

Likewise a new BB. Gonna pop the seals and fill full of fresh grease tomorrow, then chuck it and fit a new one after Mayhem.

Also got a rigid cromo fork that if it's really bad, will probably end up going on. Not ridden rigid in years, but would rather that than screw my Reba's up if its mega muddy, that and they've not got the most clearance in the world.

Oh, and will be taking a fair few brake pads...

Red Chili - I just realised I was in front of you in the jet wash queue on the Sunday morning.

I can confirm that his Yo Eddy looks even nicer in the flesh/ metal.
