Just got a text from a mate asking how much I thnk his bike is worth. He lent his 05 Specialized S-Works Enduro to his brother as he's living in the Alps, said brother has decided he wants to keep it and offered £650.

Situation slightly warped by LBS offering £450 as a PX about a year ago, which was plainly a poor offer. But what do the STW collective think? It would cost a fortune to buy a bike of similar ability now even with a few years of advances. But I haven't a clue?

No pics I'm afraid, bike curled up in Chalet waiting for Spring.

Its a 7 year old Alu frame I'd say 650 was quite generous tbh

Agreed - £650 seems pretty spot on.

Lots of enduro frames from around that time snapped, I know of two riders that had them, both thankfully replaced under excellent warranty.
I have an 05 sworks stumpy and would not sell it for 650.
Have a search on ebay to find fair average price.

Yeh, had a look at eBay and some 06 models with >£1k asking prices but you never know what the final price is. Considering the age maybe £650 is OK. Thanks for your comments.

Depends also on condition - new consumables + recently serviced = worn out +£ hundreds

I sold a 05 with much upgraded parts for about 1k 3 years ago so i would say that if it has original suspension and main components then £650 is fair. However after trying a couple of newer bikes I am back on an 06 Enduro and would not sell the frame for less than £400 if at all.
