Was at the top of Leith on Sunday about half-ten (with a dozen eight year old girls, having a mountain bike birthday party!) and the cake lady (who I know only as Guy's mum) said that the air ambulance had been there already that morning - anyone we know?
Some guy called Dave on a lilac Alpine.
Apparently he was riding really quickly, whilst spending all his time looking over his shoulder (as if someone was chasing him) and rode full tilt into a tree.

i heard that he called the AA for a quick escape, but was happy to pick up the costs himself

Shouting 'Chase me! Chase me!' no doubt.
He told the paramedics he fell of his bike and 'landed awkwardly' on a fallen branch poking up through the undergrowth.
But I know differently. 😈
