Hi there, i'm just looking to see if there are any riders around leicester want to meet up locally and maybe organise a trip to cannock or maybe over the border in to Wales. I'm of reasonable fitness, 34 and ride mostly at weekends early doors
I'm in Blaby, but dont really have time to make plans, if I have a few hours, i juts go out. I'm in a Club - DVATC, based around Ambergate in Derbys. They go out most Sundays, and every Tueadsy evening at 7pm. I dont go much now, but used to a lot, it's only a hour tops from Leicester on a Tuesday, even with rush hour traffic.
I'm in North Nottinghamshire, so not that close. But I'd be up for some riding in Wales or the Peaks if you're looking for a buddie.
I'm out riding most weekends.
Wotcha, I'm also in Leicester (Aylestone area) and looking for weekend and evening riding chums. 35, 1 wife, 2 dogs, 2 step kids, 1 Trek (various frames and bits of bike that I keep promising to get rid of and never do) and the older I get the faster I was. Cake and ale (post ride!) now take preference over outright speed.
I used to do quite a bit of riding in the Peak District and will happily travel reasonable distances for a day ride or further for a weekend jaunt. Time and SWMBO allowing!

You would be more than welcome to join the group I ride with in South Leics - we go out every Sunday morning early, meet in South Kilworth at 7.30. We normally ride about 2 hours and have a cuppa together before heading home. We ride all year round, start slips to 8 or 8.30 in the winter, normally between 6 and 10 of us, very varied abilities and we don't leave any one behind!

i'll note the details from this thread. would be riding every hour there is this week if i didn't have a stinking cold.
I assume phil56 is the phil i've been in contact with before, if so then i' mhoping to ride more in the next few months in which case i'll be in touch. if i don't ride my bikes soon i'm going to have to sell them and get fat
there's a whellan (sp) valley CC ride goes out sunday's not far from phil56s ride above but at a slightly more sociable hour 😉
I don't have kids so tend to shy away from very early weekend rides, maybe something i need to look at (early mornings, not kids)
also up for peaks/lakes/wales trips. mid week ideal.
(also road rides but don't tell anyone 😳 )
Also South Leics - have been invited to join Welland Valley CC offroad Sunday jaunts, but never made it due to other rides planned. Currently out of action due to bust collarbone, but when I'm back in the saddle I'll be up for some meet-up rides - can't be a billy no mates for ever 🙂 Everyone I know lives MILES from me!
No shame in road riding - there's some great scenery/pretty villages round here!
Up for anything from farm track bimbles to silly, silly, oh-my-god-who's-idea-was-this never ending pushes up for pure descending pleasure type rides.
And the odd trail centre 😉

I live in Coalville and, once recovered from a broken leg, would be up for a ride sometime. Normally out every Saturday morning, local on the road bike or Cannock/Ticknall for off road stuff. Drop me a PM and I'll let you have my number.
Latest guess is 3 weeks before I can ride again.

@ Phil56. Sounds good, I don't mind early starts if you don't bleary eyes and swearing! Do you ride mostly around South Kilworth or is that just your meeting point for driving out to ride somewhere else? Quite up for getting out this weekend.

We tend to ride from South Kilworth, partly because a few of us live there, but also it gives us easy access to quite a few bridleways etc looping into Northants and back. Need to use a few lanes to link things together but there are several options for 20 mile loops with the majority off road. We tend to head to the hills, so Cold Ashby or Gumly, to enjoy a little 'up and down' - it ain't the alps, but it's all we have round here!
We do also drive out - but normally further south, Maidwell is a 15 minute drive for more great loops around there.
Also do trips to events, I'm off to the Dyfi on the 1st and I think a couple of us are hoping to get up to the Colne Vally ride on the 8th.

Oddly i was considering posting something like this myself.
I'm also in south Leicester, so i'd be up for meeting for rides if anyone will have me, depending on work shifts etc.
What sort of riding you into? I go around charnwood most weekends. I know some rough cheeky bits of trail. I also go Cannock and ride the ftd and monkey. If you fancy meeting up email me and we can arrange something
