I'm meeting a friend in Leicester later in the week and will probably go for dinner somewhere. Any locals have any recommendations for good places? Thanks in advance.

It'd be a shame to visit Leicester and not have an indian. For something a bit different, try Kayal on Granby Street for some south indian cuisine. The speciality breads are great, and it's well priced too.

McIndians.
Seriously...their strapline is "You've tried the cowboys, now try the Indians!"
Can't decide if it's genius copywriting or utter shite ๐Ÿ˜€

For top quality food, The Case:

Indian food, a choice of a hundred places within 10 minutes.

For pizza, The Criterion pub, 2 minutes from 'The Case'.

+ 1 for Kayal: great food and lovely people.

Criterion is worth a visit but I prefer Taps for that pour-your-own novelty. Apparently I can't be trusted there...
