is the link path fully open then yet between these two quarries : has there been a descision as to put in signposts yet along the way..
yeah i heard its been open for a while now
I was up there about three weeks ago. The link path is open, but wasn't signposted when I was there (it may be by now as I think Tony said that was the plan eventually). The path to get to it is on your left at the top of "The Ramp" at Lee. You'll know you are on the the link when you get to it. When you get to the top of the link climb, take the right fork, which then turns downhill along a sort of doubletrack. Follow this down for a short distance, and you will arrive at Cragg (keep left at the split).
ah i was just about to ask which fork do i take left or right fork...
hope we find it cos im dying to get on cragg quarry...looks like lots of fast flowing singletrack stuff... ace !
right it down so we know where we going lol
i have done lol
As long as you go right at the top of the new link bit you'll be grand! It was reasonably busy when I was there a few weeks ago. Cragg was really enjoyable - I'm sure you'll have a blast.
going cragg today not been before, you mean the ramp as in the first climb up to where the red starts? and theres a path on the left of that is that the start of the link?
Apparently the link trail works better from cragg to lee as its a nice pumpy trail dropping down, park in the pub car park in cowpe and climb up into cragg, a few laps then over to lee for a play.
If you've never ridden cragg its a bit different from lee but still an ace trail. More rider input required to get the most out of the trail, its not as easy on the legs as ed and rowan sorrell made it look in there video last summer!
Have a good day over there, i'm jealous! Make's me want to visit my mum in waterfoot but living in cornwall it tends to be a once a year trip, will definately bring the bike up next time though.
cornwall, nice place to live ๐ used to go there alot for my holidays cheers!
Chris, "The Ramp" is the climb just after the skills area, about half way round the red route. When you get to the top of it, you will see a path off to the left. This cuts across to the link.
As above, the link is more fun from Cragg to Lee, as it is downhill in that direction, and there are a few jumps. It'll take half the time on your way back to Lee than it took to climb up to Cragg.
so went through a busy muddy lee quarry today..quite mushed up in places... and still some icy section at the rock-garden area, so yep we found the link path over to cragg quarry... luved cragg.... you certainly have to work at it with your legs to get the best out of it.... and yep Rowen and Ed Ox did make it look easy on that summer video.... cant wait for summer to dry it out, and cant wait to get back to cragg. i enjoyed it ! then whats great agin is the link path back down to lee quarry has bouldery drop-offs to jump off all the way down the link track.. that was good too ! ๐
Busy there today!
Legs are buggered from all that gloop. The link was good fun though.

I'd rather park at Lee tbh, the climbs more interesting and spread out over a few sections rather than the massive slog up to cragg quarry.
And wherever you park, you're still going to have to do the link once up and once down anyway ๐
Not necessarily, you can make a pretty good loop getting back to The Buck from the Middle Gate at Lee, where the forest section ends. Turn Left and follow the paths. With a bit of navigating, you end up at Cowpe.
lol that's what i thought andituk people were saying park at the top and then you can decent into the quarry but then ur going to have to go back up the hill again to your car, we parked at the bottom of lee quarry at futures park its easier cause when u get to the quarry u can climb up to cragg and then just fly all the way down to the car without knowing you have to climb back up there ;p
chris, odd question but were you riding an alpine 160 by any chance?
did an awesome night ride last night. Edenfield->Cragg->Lee->Cragg->Edenfield.
Tip - to avoid the mush get to Cragg after 9pm. It was all nicely frozen on our second visit very fast.
The ramp at the Lee end of the link track is at about the highest point on the perimeter loop about here at a guess. It is a long pull up hill to Rooley Moor road but worth it. Some of the jumps on the way down were a tad intimidating in the dark for me.
I'm really going to have to get up there again. Might check the weekends forecast and have a Lee/Cragg lap... I'm liking the sound of Cragg plus this jump strewn link path sounds decent!
Awesome forecast for the weekend. Anyone fancy Sunday morning early doors? Up through Lee to Cragg, lap of that, descend back to Lee and finish off the loop? No idea how long that'll take...
