Can I modify a torch like this to plug into an external 7.2V battery pack?

I'm after some very cheap options to kit out a couple of teams for a charity race later in the year.
(Unless anyone know anywhere that does light hire?)
I was going to say no but looking at the spec on that you might well get away with it as it claims to have a properly regulated power supply. Only way to tell is to try it and see. To get your runtime would be voltage of the battery divided by 3.7 multiplied by the amp hour of the battery.
Light hire - try 2 pure for a blag or bike chain in edinburgh - the bike chain has some hire lights IIRC and 2 pure hire them out at races.
