If i am running a QUAD LED at 1000mA off a 7.2V NIMH battery via a maxflex driver and the battery is 4.3Ah rating should i get 2.15 hrs? based on the following:
14.4v at 1100mA = 14.4W
7.2V x 4.3Ah = 30.96Wh
30.96 / 14.4 = 2.15h

Th bit that is confsuing me is the what the draw from the battery would actually be to step the voltage up from 7.2 to 14.4 and looking at previous posts the run time calcs seem to disregard this and just assume the driving current of 1000mA will give 4.3h (in the case of the baove battery.

Any help or a second opoining would be appreciated. Thanks

4.3 divided by the current drawn by the Maxflex in amps will give you theoretical runtime in hours but the Maxflex might shutdown when the voltage drops low & don't take the Ah ratings of batteries for real especially if they come from the far east!

Your maxflex will be drawing around 1.75 to 2 amps from the battery to power 4 xres at 1000 ma current
and as the battery voltage drops the current draw will increase untill the sag in the battery cant cope and the maxflex shuts down .

I lent out a 4 XPG helmet light running at 1000ma with a 2.6 amp hour 7.4 volt pack fully charged on a sub zero night ride and it died after 1 hour .
