Hi Guys

Looking for suggestions and info to fix this.

Just bought a Revelation fork of the classifieds and it has arrived with a puddle of oil in the box and is leaking from the poploc. I know I could send it back and demand a refund but it was a good price and seems like it should be simple enough to fix, so I have arranged with the seller that I will give this a try and he will pay for any parts i need.

I haven't had a chance to dismantle it yet, so this is a bit of armchair mechanics before i can get stuck in. This thread has some advice for removing the motion control section without having to remove the lowers, so i think i have the removal covered. I'll have a look at the seals and see if there is anything obvious but at some point the circlip on top has been replaced with with a non-RS one (lost during home service). Is there any way this can be responsible for the leak? Until I can get it apart I don't know if this is supposed to be pressing a seal down on to anything.
Any thoughts?

Get a moco service kit from TFT and some fork oil, remove motion control (24mm socket wrench), drain oil, service motion control unit, put 115ml of 5wt oil back in upper right leg, re-insert motion control. Job done ๐Ÿ™‚

:edit: TBH I probably just remove the motion control and top up the oil without paying for the kit. If the oil level had dropped that low the compression dampening wouldn't work btw...can you still lock out the forks?

Or warranty as its a well known fault if its from under the gate knob.

Great, that's exactly what I wanted to hear!

Circlip doesn't apply pressure then? Just holds the button on, right?

Warranty would be difficult as I bought it second hand. Seller has agreed to pay so everything should be fine.

Circlip just holds the compression knob on
