Having bought a new bb from my LBS last night, and paying full rrp for it, I believe it is traditional for me to now start a thread whanging on about how I could have bought the same thing for £5 less if I'd shopped online etc etc ...
Bored?
My LBS has a website which is really cheap. On some items he refuses to price match in the shop, but not on all. I got a 105 gruppo really cheap and then he tried to charge me almost twice as much as the website price for some gloves. I like the fact he sells cheap parts but the strange online/offline attitude is puzzling me.
I have been waiting for several weeks for new headset bearings that I asked my LBS to obtain. He's been waiting several weeks for the importer to get hold of said bearings. They arrived on Tuesday and he's promised to drop them off at my house today "on the way to work".
It isn't on the way, he lives due south of the shop and I'm a few miles south east. However, this means I can now fit the bearings tonight, and ride tomorrow. Otherwise, since I'm at work already, I wouldn't get to the shop till tomorrow and wouldn't be able to ride.
It's for that reason that I like my LBS and will continue to shop there.
Who would we end up going to if we get ourselves in the s... tinkering with our bikes or getting to know the staff and getting good advice. Support our LBS as when they're gone it's too late to whinge.
Same rant followed up with the same conclusion.
Zzzzz!

My 'rant' was a sarcastic remark based on what usually happens on here.
Only a massive idiot with no understanding of how the world works would genuinely complain about the price of goods in a 'real' shop.
we will always try to price match online prices in our shop our if for some reason we couldnt i would fit the part for free.
