Few issues with my bike, I've only just sent the warranty form back but whilst on the phone it was mentioned that I may be able to take it to "a bike shop" to get it sorted. Are most going to tell me to whistle?
Bike shop just invoices CRC for the work done (most lbs owners will see this as an opportunity to try and fleece crc by massively inflating the issue/cost).
Why would they tell you to do one?
They'll be charging crc the going rate?
Its like going in and expecting them to put your handlebars on for you for free
lol at Rorschach.
I don't think so, most will simply look at the job like any other.
we are not a bunch of criminal rip off merchants in bike shops you know.
The 11 years working in them has taught me otherwise.
I just assumed if you bought from crc you are seen as the lbs enemy and receive a "sorry mate not interested" response.
Why on Earth would a LBS do some work on the gamble CRC end up paying them? Maybe there is slick system in place but I wouldn't have thought it's worth the hassle. If the LBS is happy to do it for you then good on them- can't complain as a customer with either the LBS or CRC if it does work out as they say.
What is the warranty work?
Main pivot bearing and creaky rockshox forks...

I'd expect the majority of them would get the customer to pay and then claim back from CRC.
I realise how it would work in theory but it's a potential headache for the LBS. I guess you can only ask and if they go along with it then the OP is at no loss.
Forks should go to somewhere who looks after warranty stuff- TF? I doubt the LBS will do anything with the forks if it is actually them that are creaky. But if they will find a box send them off then that's less postage and faff for the OP to claim back themselves.
Bearing replacement on a frame is easy at the LBS though so no worries on that.
