So to cut a very long story short my holiday plans with the gf have fallen through at the last minute, I've got the next two weeks off and thinking the best use for it could be some quality time with the bike to cheer me up.
I'd like to go somewhere with decent and fun riding not down hill gnarr not xc stamina sapping either, something in the middle. I'd imagine getting some group rides would be impossible at this late stage so it will be solo 'billy no mates' stuff. I'm fortunate that I can fairly easily get myself and my bike to Wales, Scotland, Norway, German, France, Italy and the like.
Has anyone found themselves in a similar situation or any experience and recommendations?
there's still a fair bit of snow sitting in the alps, well the northern side at least...
i assume you're driving?
south of france/italy too far? finale ligure, maybe?
How about attempting to meet and ride with as many stwers as possible and to ride their fave trails? Even with that short a notice I'd be tempted to try
