Hello, I want to make my own chainring for my singlespeed; anyone know what standard defines bike chain and sprocket dimensions?

I am not going to give you the dimensions but this will help and will get you there.

Do chainrings, even SS and track ones, not have chamfers on them in case the chainline is not perfect? How would you intend to do that or just do it with a file?

Not sure about the chamfers; I would deburr it and hope for the best! As I am a designer I can try for free

High end ones are normally CNC'd aren't they? I know cheaper ones are stamped. The bloke in Wales that does/did egg rings world CNC any number of teeth/bcd for your ££'s.

Chain pitch is 1/2 inch.

I'm not sure of the diameter of the roller bits tho, but it should be easy enough to measure with some calipers.

If you are a designer could you not just design one?
