I'm rather enjoying my MCR9 set up as rigid but my wrists are finding longer 4hr plus rides a bit hard.

The Niner steel fork has a lot of clearance - I'm after a 2.4 or larger similar to a Racing Ralph snakeskin for tubeless (which is availalbe in 2.35 that doesn't seem enough of a difference from the current 2.25 Ralph I am currently running)

Any suggestions?

Got off my ass and a Panaracer Bfat Nimble 3" 29plus is on it's way to me. Comes up more like 2.8" it seems which is probably just as well as I'm putting it on a Crest 😕

Sounds like it's a bit late, but you'll probably find a 2.4 on a e.g. Hugo gives you more volume than a 2.8 on a crest. Not to mention the fact that you won't be able to run comfy-low pressures on the 2.8/Crest without tyres rolling over the rim in corners.

Oh well. I should say this is really for bridleway XC ie straight line comfort. It's playing about really which I don't mind doing with a £50 tyre but I do mind relacing wheels etc.
