Ok so think video playback sorted on my Dell Inspiron 1525.
Now; laptop has a HDMI port. Can I connect to my TV through this so my laptop becomes my DVD player?
Will I need to press a F key so output diverted thru HDMI?

I'm actually going to flog my PS3 if the laptop does the job. Only use PS as DVD player. Gaming just don't have any interest.

once youve got it all plugged in, assuming is all plugged incorrectly, you will need to press the Fn Key
and a key that resembles a laptop, with a second screen behind it.
pressing this toggles various setups, usually 3
Laptop on, TV on
Latop on, TV off
Laptop off, TV on
dunno what cable you will need, but should be pretty obvious....
