Hi,
I am considering changing the frame pivot bearings in a 2013 Lapierre spicy 516, i cant find any guides anywhere does anyone know where i might find something or have any tips, i dont want to just start spannering and break something.
I had a 2014 Zesty so a different frame, however I did change most of the bearings plus the rear bushings (the rear FSR link on the 2014 had bushings, not bearings so worth checking). Do you have any tools? I used one of the bearing pullers from these guys (message them to see what you need) pullers .
Getting the bearing in was a real pain, I used an ebay bearing press but it was not great, I found freezing the bearings helped to get them in.
The bushings were a pain to source, but I seem to remember the change being pretty easy.
Yea it’s the bushings I am not sure about. Thanks for the link to the bearing pullers I will get some of those. They seem worth having for the price.
Link is a 2009 spicy but has bushings covered. It looks familiar from what I used as a guide. My frame had 2 bearing sizes, I only changed the larger ones as they were the one which were knackered. Check as the pullers are bearing size specific, pretty crude but worked well. The bushing replacement sorted a creak as the bushings were scored.
