does anyone know if the old railway line from Troutbeck to Birkett Mire, is rideable.
this is the one on the south side of the A66.

No sorry Ton - nature's pretty much reclaimed most of it. The only ridable bit is after Birkett Mire over to the A66 (then you're onto the Threlkeld / Keswick section).
