Neighbour did it on his 'cross bike. (I was on nights last night) said it was ok but the wind was a bit blowy. 😀

Just got back I basically followed the GPS download and rode all the bits they diverted people away from they were pretty sodden, except Latrigg which was fine and a blast. Out of Cockermouth I headed up Whinlatter Pass for a baked potato as I was running on empty. Did a loop of the lake to stretch my legs did not do the planned 100 miles 🙁

The journey back on the M6 killed any enjoyment I got from the ride! Offroad sections were fun but too much on roads for my liking really.
On the bits they rerouted it was very heavy going and the trails would have been trashed can see why they changed them as they will obviously want to run it next year and it does not go down well with the locals if the trails are trashed. Not sure why they never took the route up Latrigg as it was dry as!
got drunk in leeds yesterday. put paid to coming and doing this.
up in grasmere for 5 days from tomorrow.
if you see 2 old folk on tourers pottering about, say hello.
Will book it for next year when hopefully it'll be true full route.
