Looking at riding around lagos, portugal, anyone know much and will a hard tail suffice running 130 mm fork.
had my honeymoon in Lagos summer '99, nice place. Wasn't a MTBer then so I can't really say, but we did take a "jeep safari" up into the Monchique mountain area.
Was good fun. Hardtail would probably be fine if memory serves, but then MTBs can obviously go places a jeep can't.
I haven't done any biking out there but I have looked into it as I have visited the area quite a lot. There looks to be plenty of potential in the mountains as mentioned above. There is a company based in Lagos who do guided trips - their name escapes me but a quick google search should root them out.

There were some Dirt Jumps on the cliff not far from the Torraltinha end of Lagos last time I was there 4 years ago.
TBH after a session on the Maojitos in Stones Bar I couldn't be arsed to ride my bike...
