Took some old helicopter tape off my bike and it appears to have stripped off some of the lacquer. Best just to buy some lacquer and reapply or leave it?

I doubt you'd achieve anything better than factory, I'd leave it, but if you do try it, what is there to lose?

Factory lacquer is likely to be 2k, so you'll need to key in the area with fine grit sandpaer before applying lacquer, as unless you have access to a proper spray booth then 1k is what you'll be using (don't use 2k without proper protection, it's rather poisonous) then you'll have to go over the area with proper rubbing compound to blend it in.

In all honesty, to do it properly is probably more effort than it's worth, if it were me, and it wasn't down to the bare frame then i'd re-apply helitape and leave it it. If it was down to the bare frame I'd give it a quick clean, put some clear nail varnish on to protect it, and then re-apply helitepe.
