Looking for some help regarding these seatposts. Bought one of here a while ago and when i tried putting weight on it the seatpost operates. by that i mean that before i attach a seat and just have it in my hand and lean on it with the post on the deck the post compresses. Ive read the manual on these and they are supposed to be suspension seaposts but if i can compress it by hand how can it hold my weight? Is there a way to increase the air pressure in the cylinder to prevent this. My mate has the i900 and it doesnt seem to operate like that, it is merely an adjustable height seatpost.

How much does it compress? Before I broke mine it had about an inch of 'suspension' action in any position.

not sure re internals but on a joplin that means either too little oil or too little air pressure

I think the gas inside is sealed so if that's the issue then it might need to go in for repair. I broke mine when cleaning it and pressed the piston in too far without the externals on and it went pop. D'oh.

That much travel without pressing the lever isn't right, though. I could barely move the bloody thing when sat on it! Have you tried taking it apart and cleaning it? Might be something in the lever mechanism that is making it think that it's always depressed?

had it in bits and greased it all up. the lever seems to actuate the post no problem so i'm thinking it is a problem with the air pressure
