I just picked up a new eTen 27.2 (non-remote) and installed it this evening. After actuating it a few times I noticed there a slight graunching noise in the last couple of centimetres of movement as it extends. Is this normal? 😯
Probably not, but have you tried sitting on it?
KS's in particular when new or after being left a long time can be a little odd in operation til they've been loaded a few times - it's quite common to need to sit down heavily on one to get it to extend when new. This settles down quickly.
My remote e-ten makes the same noise when coming back up to the top of it's travel despite various lubricants.
Still works ok so will leave until it packs up then change or get it serviced.
Thanks, on a closer listen I think it might actually be the squelching of the fluids in there ...
