My long suffering cx frame has finally cracked (around the seat tube collar - i'm blaming round 7 of the Western cx league) - I'm looking around for suitable replacements and will probably settle on a px uncle john but noticed a kona super dew frame and fork for sale at crc. Looking at the geometry they look similar but do you think the super dew would be ok with drops? (and what about rear tyre space?)
The bike is mainly my commuter but gets used for occasional cx racing and offroad exploring so needs to be up for anything basically!
With all the talk of cheap Curtis. frames and old full suss. frames that little gem got missed by most folk id wager . i looked at one too and might still go for it but your question about rear tire is a yes.....a cx will fit fine but not a big one. drops might not work however i once met a chap who put drops on a standard Dew and it looked and worked fine. go for it....if you bottle it before you build it then it can always go back?!?
i guess it could go back, i just know that once it arrived I'd get lost in the shiny newness of it!
thanks for the tyre info - i don't go above 32mm anyway.
I'm pretty sure Kona actually sold the Dew with drops for a while???
got a 56cm Jake the snake if you're interested? £450?
i have a 2010 Kona Dew Drop
CRC are doing Scott CX frames for £99! only in l/xl though.
The top tube will be 3-4cm longer. Not nec a deal breaker but a shorter stem may make it handle funny.
The Scott frames are sold out.
just about to push the button on the super dew - will have some decent carbon cx disc forks for sale soon if anyone's interested!
