looking on Halfords website it says "mech hanger for Apollo, Carrera, Boardman and Kona bikes". does that mean i can just buy a few Kona hangers here in Germany and they will fit.
it will save my sister having to post them over it they do...

cheers

As long as it's the correct one, Kona probably have about a dozen different hangers.

Depends which one your kona needs. My 03 kikapu was the same hanger as the Mrs' Apollo charm. It'll be a stock template dropout from the factory.

I think what the op is asking is if kona mech hangers will fit a boardman. Personally I wouldent trust halfords too much on that one(well on anything really). Maybe pop an email into boardman ?

Apollos have mech hangers ?

You could tell which bikes were made in the same factory - differences on the boxes, same stock parts, that sort of thing. For a time kona/carrera/some apollo all had the same hangers and some carrera frames were VERY similar to kona. Wouldn't be surprised if Boardman are the same

When I worked there, we had 2 or 3 'half decent if that's your budget' apollos, alright alu frame, 21 speed shimano megarange group, suntour fork. You could buy a much worse bike for £150.

That would explain why boardman saddles are exactly the same as carrera saddles. And you can only buy boardman from halfords.

I remember some carrera frames were made by merida. Dont think they are anymore but for cheapish bikes the frames are still pretty good.

merida made them for ages, that's why there was a carrera LRS range and magnesium frames and all that. Then the Strongarm(I think) factory started making them and we had copies of kona faux bars and clump style tubing

Always a good deal of cross over with things like that.
Landrover have also used strongman as did the old Saracen

eBay can often be a good source for hanger the world over
