Can anyone tell me about the evolution of these bikes? I saw one recently in another thread and I now NEED one!
There are four versions as far as I can see:
1) Steel framed from with straight top tube from early 90's
2) Steel framed with bent top tube from ??
3) Steel (?) framed with curved top tube from ??
4) Aluminium framed from 2009 onwards

Can anyone give me any more info?

Original version was around '93

There was a red version with straight top tube and sliding dropouts which came with or without v-brake studs c. '05. I have one of those set up with discs and 80mm forks and use it for an off-road singlespeed, it rides very nicely.

That's all I know...

All I know is that I almost bought one about 5 years ago, a black one, but didn't.

I wish I had. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

I just sold a steel one in blue, straight tt & canti but no disc mounts. I wish I'd not sold it bit I was never going to build it up.

my mate has exactly the same in red.

I think they have non standard rear spacing

I think the one I had was spaced 120mm on the rear ... certainly wasn't 135mm.

Y2K, oh my eyes! Might just be those tyres, but looks like it got a bit shorter of later.
Cheers for that!

I quite fancy an 06 with moustache bars. I think I'm losing it out here.

The early curved top tubed ones were A'Ha's.

I built up the 05 red frame (disc only) with an Alfine hub, I loved it. Wish I didnt sell it now.
