Well if GW thinks they are average and not just shite then they must be really quite good.

i had a few goes on a mate of mines. I found it way too short and so too much weight on the back wheel.

It might have been a size too small - but we are the same height. He got rid and bought a five.

Nah, not really. if I had the choice between a £500 100mm hardtail or a £1200 Coilair I'd choose the HT every time.

I tried a Coiler a few years back and it felt a bit "cheap". I don't know how else to describe it, but ti wasn't a refined ride (though that was in comparisson to a 2004 Patriot.

I've never tried the coilair, but i imagine it is similar, only with an air shock.

But isnt that always along the lines of what you say?

"Thats crap get a 100mm HT"

But as you didn't say it was crap then I inferred that it must be OK.

nope!
I have a fully rigid mtb, a 65mm hardtail, a 100mm hardtail, a 115mm full sus and a 200mm full sus bike to choose from - all get ridden. A Coilair wouldn't. if all the rest broke I'd probably ride my roadbike or a BMX

plus "crap" is an awful american word. I'd have said "shit"

If it's a magic link then my bought last years model (black frame) but it snapped near the rear brake mount after a few rides.

They gave him the latest frame (polished) which is still in one piece.

I've had a go but only down a steep hill. It felt to soft to me, but my bike had 100mm of rear travel.

I have an older Dawg which I like. Lump of a bike but does everything I need/want/can do.
The coilair of the same vintage(`05)was quite similar but reckoned to be a bit more sluggish on the ups but better on the downs 😆
Still a few going about locally.
Just all depends what you or mate/s are looking for.

Was tempted myself but am going to try and save my pennies for a Transition Bandit sometime in `12 🙂
