[Closed] Know Anyone Who Can Print My Decals For Me?

Hello All

I have a PDF done of some decals I need printed out to fit to a refurbished road bike frame. These will be lacquered over. I'd prefer not to use vinyl.

I have emailed maybe the top half dozen results for decal companies on Google and asked for a price for printing them but not one company has got back to me.

Does anybody know of anyone offering such a service?

I tried the same years ago with internet enquiries but the first print shop I visited in person was very happy to help. They had a range of equipment and substrates. Obviously you'll have better luck in a city or large town...

@andykirk any local sign business should be able to do it - as you've already got the artwork it should be a very simple job.

However everyone would be vinyl printing them... why do you not want vinyl? Not sure what other material or technique for printing them you're thinking of? Waterslide transfer maybe? That is much more specialist if so (although you can get the material to do it on a home printer, then carefully cut it out with a craft knife!)

I was under the impression vinyl had a thickness that would always create a 'lip' at the edge?

Meaning they are liable to peeling and not really suited to lacquering over?

@andykirk that's correct, anything has a thickness though that you'd be able to feel, even paint.

Whoever's doing the lacquering will just need to use a bit more in order to cover up the decal and get that smooth finish. Generally you'd want a vinyl decal to be laminated as this massive improves the durability, however if you're lacquering then you definitely don't (as an unlaminated decal is half the thickness!)
