Out for a leisurely ride with the family today (cycle path mainly) and about 30 mins in noticed a knocking from my front crank. Seems to be in time with right pedal at the 12 o'clock position. Ran through all be gears and it was still there. Also felt a "wobble" when putting the hammer down a bit. Checked my set up when back at home and couldn't 't see anything obvious externally. Did notice on my last ride that front derailleur upshift was a bit sluggish. Not sure if that's related or not. Bike going in for service in two weeks but just wanted any thoughts in the meantime as have got a ride planned with some mates next weekend.

Either a worn-out bottom bracket, a lose BB bearing or cup, or perhaps a loose crank. Could also be the crank needs pulling onto the splines better if it's a Hollwtech chainset/BB.
Just grab hold of each crank and pull sideways/outwards on them, one at a time. Find the source of the wobble.
If you can get the loose bit tightened ASAP, do, as lose bits tend to damage the fittings that secure them. You don't want to paying for a new crank etc if a "stich in time" would have saved it.

Its not a pedal, just put brand new ones on. Also, there is no play in the cranks when I pull or push a crankarm, so I don't think that its a loose crank or worn BB. Shock seems tight, can't get it to move any like with a worn bushing.
I'm thinking suspension pivot...
Mine turned out to be the front mech cable twanging off the crank arm
Mine started knocking during yesterday's ride. Definitely the BB as it clickscwhen I rotate the cranks backwards with a light touch of a finger. Only done 450 miles.
mine was knocking over the last few weeks with no obvious play in the BB, checked all bolts, clearances etc, changed pedals, then too everything apart last night. The non-drive side bearing had about 3mm of play. I suggest strip it all back and re-build clean with new grease as a starter, but then you will find if any bearing is guff or not at the same time.
Cheers guys. Tested crank arm this morning and there's no play with lateral movement. Crank itself seem secure. Checked the derailleur mount again and there is signs of wear just below the chain guide. Not sure if it's just a bit skewed or not. Shock and mounting are fine. Bike still in warrantee so will flag it with LBS during the service.
My rear derailleur hanger was loose; easy fix. ๐
Unfortunately, I didn't discover this until the crank and BB were removed. ๐
Don't wait for a service, get your BB checked for tightness in the frame. I've come across countless loose BB's that you couldn't feel by hand, but clicked under load. Those that were caught early were sorted by tightening,some that were ignored went on to destroy the threads in the frame, quite an expensive and specialised repair.
