Hi I'm after recommendations for knee/shin pads. My husband has said that he would like something to protect his knees if he falls off but also to protect his shins from thorns and over grown bushes too. He would like something that's light weight. So can you please recommend something so I can finish off my Xmas shopping?

I've got these pads.

They are very thin so only recommend for cross country and general trail riding - not for downhilling or anything like that.
But they are very good just to add a bit of protection and I barely notice them when riding.

I’ve got a set of these that I use for BMXing but I think that they were intended for DH.

The fit is good and they stay in place, even when running about off the bike. Also, whilst they look a bit “chunky”, I tend to forget that I’ve got them on. Ventilation is OK as they are open backed. I’ve never owned another set of pads so I can’t compare them against others.
Does he like to dress as a Stormtrooper? If so, I’d get him these.
