Just recently (after 10 or more years on flats) I have started to get pain in my left knee.  I have very high arches and was wondering whether My foot is collapsing as I press down.  Has anyone tried supportive insoles and did they work??

Have you changed anything?

Virtually all knee aches and pains I've suffered in the past have been immune to insoles/different pedals etc. and almost all have just been caused by changing something, usually suddenly riding more or harder e.g. recently I've started doing a couple of shorter, harder rides each week as part of my CX training and hey presto! Sore knee 😖

I would try and speak with a physio. It may be as simple as a weakness somewhere that some regular supporting exercise could help.

I have just experienced this. Dropper failed and was replaced but I immediately got knee pain in my right knee. I thought I had got the new seatpost at the same height as the previous one but clearly I hadn't. Same setup exactly but post height must have been a nads different. You wouldn't believe such a tiny difference could make such an impact but it does.

Thanks everyone.  I know I’ve been pushing harder recently. I also changed dropper post so maybe a little difference in seat height. I’ll do another measure. I have 3 bikes and it seems to be worse on the hardtail where I changed the seat post.  Maybe it’s just a little high.
