[#3640093]

After a cx race last weekend my left knee has been hurting.

It's quite a defined location, feft knee, inside of leg about 1 inch down from my knee cap and its tender to the touch. It feels like I've bruised it but I haven't crashed or knocked it.

Hurts when I walk downhill but not up. I can ride gently and it is fine but as soon as I try and speed up it comes back. Goes away with (very) gentle stretching/bending/straightening.

I've got a physio appointment booked for Thursday but thought I'd go for an internet diagnosis in the meantime. Currently still riding gently to work but otherwise resting it while keeping it moving and taking ibuprofen occasionally.

P.S. I just read the wiki page:

stress may result when an obese individual with anatomic deformity from arthritis ascends or descends stairs

Perchance are you a gimp-legged fatty?

I found this

Does sound about right. I found a link that said a cause was poor athletic technique ๐Ÿ˜ณ It's a bit harsh, I won the cx league so I'm not too bad... Cold weather, poor warmup, sprints off the line probably did it for me. Need to work on core strength and flexibility. I've been meaning to look up pilates and yoga classes as my Fiance wants to do them too. Just need to sort the wedding first...

Biro in the knee doesn't hurt and the stitches make great eyes for a smiley face.

It's not in the right place for pes anserine bursitis.

Definite GKS. More likely some low grade soft tissue pish which'll settle down with some anti-inflammatories and some ice.
