Really need some new pads as I've had my Kyle straits forever and they're far too big for me now. Been pretty happy with them but they are quite bulky and can get hot. Still comfy for long dh days though.. so what's good at the minute? I like the softer style rather than hard caps, makes them comfy which makes me wear them more! Also if they could be put on without taking shoes off that'd be handy but not essential Budget preferably under £50.. fox launch look alright.
Am on a second pair of Launches I like them a lot. There is a hard shell but it's suspended in the fabric and combined with a huge behind-the-knee cutout they're all-day comfortable I feel nekkid without them
Not a hope in hell of getting them on over shoes but otherwise I find they stay put, are not obtrusively bulky and crash well.
I've got those G-form pads which are about 40quid. Far less bulky than Kyle Straits and effective too,(as I found out after messing up a 5ft drop).
nukeproof critical or the scott grenade's but no one has them in stock!
3rd choice would be the Fox launch pads
scotts new pad, the rocket is even betterer tahn grenades
g-form
I like them Bluegrass ones - the look of them anyway!
I have some G-Forms and like them, after having had some Straits. Watch the sizing though, I've gone from medium Straits to XL G-Forms.
Fox Launch Pros, never had any issues with comfort even on long rides
They had the new raceface ones (ambush maybe?) on pinkbike the other day. They have the on/off without taking shoes off you're looking for. Seemed to get a decent write up from a long term test too.
I have some "new", well, used for 2 rides before realising they were to small for me, some mud speckels but thats it. There the 661 rage pads in medium. You can have them for £30. Was going to stick them up on ebay, but would rather they go to someone on here.
