As many on here will attest, I'm a well acknowledged bike tart, but outside the bike itself, I'm not so bothered.

Shoes are a prime example - I'm still wearing (almost though them now) the same Pearl Izumi shoes that I bought back in 2005. Base layers are another one.

What don't you really car about when it come to bikes and biking paraphernalia?

I dunno if more disposable income would change me...
but I have a barely used hydration bladder, my gloves are nothing more than a collection of holes held together with luck, and my multi-tool cost a quid from a high street discount store..
Errr, thinking about it, my helmet isn't in much better condition than my gloves ๐Ÿ˜ณ

My problem is being a cheapskate. Everything was bought because it was v. cheap in a sale. The result is I have a fair amount of kit but it doesn't quite fit or is in a revolting colour or is so old fashioned I can only ride screw on free hubs in it.
Unfortunately my bikes are the same! One day I am going to put my hand in my pocket and buy decent kit and a decent bike. Whether I will have any more fun than I do now is open to debate.

Base layers. as far as I can tell it's all a load of bollocks, if I want to be less hot or sweaty I wear less clothes. And if it's cold, then it's not really a "base layer", it's just a warm bit of clothes doing the same job as all the rest.

Stems. Well, I suppose I care, mine are all the right length and decent quality but none were expensive. People spend a fortune on stems but I bet if you stuck a box round mine you'd not know if it was a thomson or a Pro. Well, if it was a Thomson the faceplate'd crack sooner or later...
