Heading up there this weekend and heard the Black trail is closed.

Are there any diversions / routes that be used to after Rivendell to pick up some of the black.

Cheers

We did the full black at the weekend. Quite a few bits where you have to bike a hike over tree felling areas but nothing too difficult. Closures on the red were worse.

We were looking to go up there this weekend, but got this email from a local bike club who are also up there:

"Spoke to the trail manager guy yesterday and apparently the contractors brought in to clear the Larches affected by disease have been non to careful with sections of the trails during their work. Things are so bad theyre gona have to bring in the designers to look at how best to fix some of the worse affected areas!

The contractors have done such a good job that there isnt a a way round either to the unaffected bits beyond. :("

Thinking we might do a red route-Dalbeatie-Mabie combo instead.
