I've just re-read your post...you are "treating" a non-biker to a visit to K'tree?

Hmmmmm....

You sound just like MrFC..."would you like to go to Ambleside for lunch?"
What he really means is he wants to go to Biketreks!!!

Wigtown is a few miles away, and is a bit of a mecca for second hand books - there's maybe 5 or 6 shops in the town, it's sort of a theme of the place. Could easily kill a few hours there looking through stuff.

The Bladnoch distillery is also handy, if your missus is a drinker.

ETA: Just seen that she'll have the hound with her - Can she tie it up outside for a bit?

The bladnoch distillery tour was only ok and the local shops aren't anything special, however the beach is good, but only on a really nice sunny day, obviously. Unless the sun is shining, you are really going to have to make up for it in other departments, sorry. ๐Ÿ˜‰

There is also Laggan Outdoor centre at Mossyard Caravan site, next to Auchenlarie on the A75. They've got lots of activities on offer and a cracking beach if the weathers nice! Its probably about 10 miles from K'tree.
