Anyone carried up from just beyond Loch Eilde Mor (anticlockwise) to back side of Sgurr Eilde Mor, for the descent via Coire an Lochain back to the Loch side?

Would be interested in any clues as to terrain for the push/carry up.

Tamuchly:D

have been eyeing that one for ages, would love to ride it, just for the climb up!

Geograph.org.uk offers a few clues, and when i've cycled past the start of the climb it looks in typical kinlochleven condition, covered in loose rocks and stones, but probabaly climbable, if perhaps in sections. The gradient started to look a bit silly nearer the top.

What i think i've seen of the descent (again, just cycling past the bottom of it) doesn't look as good, looks less well used and a bit hacky.

Ah, i think i've got that the wrong way round, the climb i'm talking about would be your descent. In which case the push up would almost certainly be a push up, and it looked a bit hacky 😉

I'm like you, been pondering it for years - the descent always looks a lot more doable from a distance, and plenty rougher when close up.

I'm thinking about the long trudge around the back of the ridge, then drop down the rocky 'slash' you see from the landrover track - worst case scenario it's a v.long walk with the bike 😆

If we pull it off, I'll update this thread...

I'll be up your way on July 31st and 2nd July too. The Friday is planned for the Blackwater descent via Luibeilt, but no plans yet for the Sunday

A quick update - Sgurr Eilde Mor still unridden by us 😕 The clegs were as vicious as I've ever seen them up there so the prospect of giving them a feast during the long hike a bike section didn't appeal in the end. Did some cracking routes and a got few days of amazing weather 🙂

Nice picture of the Lochan from Sgurr Eilde More, i spy a nice wee trail dropping off the edge of the world in the upper left hand corner 🙂

Might attempt this on sunday if i do the Spean Bridge - Corrour ride, hope the weather stays reasonable!
