Any opinions on the Kinesis Tripster AT (the aluminium one) ?

I'm thinking of getting one for cycling to work, and also further afield.

had one since 2020. Built with 650b wheels, GRX, Ritchey Venture Max bars and a Redshift seatpost. Used for road, gravel and bike packing including the KAW. Never use my road bike now, not that I did a huge amount, good all round comfortable bike. I'm 172cm on a 54" frame, could have possibly gone smaller, I'm running a 65mm stem. Any question let me know.

Aluminium should be fine. My Ti GF was an amazing handling bike, but it fell apart a month out of its 2 year warranty.ย  ย ย

Missus just bought one about 4 weeks ago, she loves it. Running both road and gravel wheels, tyres.ย

We've done some nice upgrades (zipp wheels, bars and seatpost). Got it quite light now.ย

The only thing to note is that the frame is small. We are both 5 foot 8, and ride a 54. I normally ride a 52 and my gravel bike is a small. We tried the kinesis in a small (52) and it felt tiny.

Had mine for nearly six years and it's done the Dirty Reaver, been my winter road bike and had a whole stack of adventures. It's a really versatile frame.

I'm 175cm and have the 51cm frame - I'm surprised that w00dster found it too small as it fits me perfectly. I guess there's a lot of leeway in setup of either size of frame.

Just be aware, unless they've updated in the last few years there's no sensible way to route a dropper post if that's your intention.

I've got one of the first ones from 2017.ย  It's done countless bikepacking trips and I do lots of off road on it too. Mine also done the Reiver 200.

It's got (or had) a fairly tall front end so good for an inflexible mtb'r, especially if you want a chance of getting onto the drops.ย  The only downside is it has (or had) a fairly level top tube, compared to some of the more compact gravel bones around now, but I don't feel it holds me back.

It recently found itself camping next to it's bigger brother, by chance.
