Last year, you declared SS at registration.

650 people on the start line is going to be interesting!

Only 650?

From the site I was expecting more :p

"No liquids please. If every rider put a 500ml bottle of liquid in their drop bags, that's 900kg of liquid we're transporting, on top of the 1000+litres of water and energy drink we're already providing!"

It takes approx 1,800 people carrying 500ml bottles to make 900kg. Wow, 1,800 at the start. It will be like the London Marathon and take 1/2 hr just to get past the start line.

Three bags each eh? Ah, if that is the case... I thought there was one bag and it would be ferried from station to station. If it's three then I need to repack quickly.

I'm a tight Yorkshireman so not bothering with all that bag malarky, make the most of all the free grub on offer ๐Ÿ˜†

I read it as one bag.

Logistically how would they ferry 600+ bags along to the next station if everyone is riding at a different pace? There will be hours between us towards the latter stages.

It's three bags. There were separate boxes for each drop point last year at registration.

Jesus I,m with SteveB here make the use of the free grub if not carry the bloody stuff!!!!

I think the organisers will have enough on their plates without 600 odd nancy bags!

I'm likely to be near the back, so the fast boys will have eaten all the nice stuff by the time I get there ๐Ÿ™‚

(For anyone using the spreadsheet for pace thingys, there's an updated one with the new distances from the site: https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AuKOuAY2FWIzdGZ5dVBoalplb2laVUJJWjJvZWQ1Qmc&hl=en_GB)

Am I alone in thinking that 1000 litres of water between 650 riders isn't all that much, particularly as it (whispers) looks like it might be sunny?

I remember a race in Wales a couple or 3 years back - they ran out of food by the time half the field had come though
If I don't use my drop bags, they'll be returned to race HQ & I'll pick them back up
If they run out of food, I'll be OK ๐Ÿ™‚

There's no way I'm relying on someone else to feed me as my only source of sustenance

Woop woop names definately there :D, still a bit empty from 12:12, raced in a pair and it was pretty tough, few beers tonight a gentle trundle on the bike for an hour or so tomorrow then, pack the van up friday and chill for 350miles until I arrive!
Oh need to clean, fettle the bike, think about food, and bag drop things but I'm sure it will be fine, after all 100miles is just a good day out isn't it??????????
