I'm looking for some kids cycling competition type events for the wee fella, ideally around central Scotland. Just looking to provide him with an introduction so he can see if it's something he really wants to pursue. He tall and strong for his age (6 in June) and scares the pants of me when he takes off on his bike with the back end whipping about and him laughing like a drain.
Local cx league may be worth checking out, not strictly mtb racing but you can race on mtbs!
Comrie Croft have a few things on. Cream of the Croft in June looks fun.
Same folks (Muckmedden) also do some Funduros with kids’ races. My wee one had a great time in Falkirk a couple of years ago.
MTB orienteering is great fun. It's not competitive (unless you want it to be) and you can go as far as you want.

Tweedlove family day has events for kids.
Check out Scottish Cross Country Series (SXC) kids races
Cream O the Croft for sure.
Any other Muckmedden event.
