[#6562389]

Evening
After much debating, researching and asking of questions I finally asked minivader which bike he liked the look of and he chose the Scott scale jr20 purely on looks alone (kids eh?!).
So today we went over to Hargroves in Winchester and they sorted us out with a few bits and pieces and a shiny new bike [img]

Initial impressions are good. More importantly minivader says it is the poshest bike in the world and better than my bikes!! Further testing will commenced over the comming weeks...
Cheers

Nice mate nice. Currently we're sticking with the ASDA special, whilst it's a bit rubbish, it does the job and he's happy. MAybe in summer we'll jump on a more expensive and lighter bike.

Minivader is 6 and the bike fits great... Quite stretched out but he doesn't seem to mind. Weeksy mrsvader wasn't initially happy with the idea, but we had the cash (just) and it now means I won't have to push him up the hills...

I hope you've taken this photo as a lesson on important weed removal and future life lessons with valve and logo alignment. Great looking little bike.. what sort of weight is it?

My Scott junior is 29 lbs on some vaguely accurate Aldi scales.

Older version though.
Cranks were 160 mm on it as well - surprisingly long IMHO

Our old scott 20 and then 24 are ace bikes - better than the Kona (odd/high geometry at bb and head), lighter than the Specialized 20 by a long way.

Review from mini_vader needed....

Depending on what forks they are you might want to take out one of the springs. My lads GT Chucker actually got working suspension when I did that as they barely moved with both springs in.

The Scott already has uber light springs, unlike some others (the Specialized), however I found that keeping the internals of the forks smeared with old Judy Butter made them well plush for ickle_outandabouts.
