As above, I have been searching for a baby waterproof cape or similar but to no avail, anyone recommend anything?

Fabsil; spray all over before putting them into the seat.

Make one yourself?

And go on Dragons Den?

Remember me when you are rich.

Seriously email child seat makers?

We use splash suits - available from simple waterproof boiler suit designs to breathable goretex-esque things. Team it with a decent polartec boilersuit (Columbia do a good one) and you've got a workable solution to wind, rain and cold until they are 6 or 7 (though the polartec may only go up to 5).

Also useable when they go sledging, walking etc.

Manton is correct - vvv - Muddy puddles have some good kit.

Go to :

Get the waterproof coat and the bib and brace trousers. Thoroughly tried and tested.

Put them in a tesco bag or a bin liner

As above - I'd just put them in their normal waterproof suit (though 3.5 year old now has separates which he insists is his fireman costume - at least that means it's easy to get him to put them on).

Boiler suit from Millet's. Over their boots, mind.
