Anyone use Kevlar pads? What's so special about them?
They were cheap! SS kevlar seem to last longer than SS organic, and more power than SS sintered
I bought some SS ones (which have been brilliant by the way, as well as being cheap) for the Alps primarily. Since it often rains on an evening out there, was told to get the Kevlars as they'll stand up to a bit of moisture without glazing over etc on big descents. As it happens, it never rained, never dropped below 30 whilst we were there but the pads performed brilliantly.
I had a set I put in the night before doing the Mega. I've not ridden tons since then but probably on average once a week in the Lakes, and I've just replaced them now (could probably have got a couple more rides out of them.
so they're more powerful, more durable and work better in the wet?
but a bit more pricey?
I didn't notice any difference in use to sintered SS ones but they do seem to have lasted pretty well.
are kevlar pads quieter than sintered? with having no traces of metal in? worth trying them with my current squeallllling sintered hope pads..
any ideas?
