Cant believe it but 1 of my students actually wanted to use ketchup instead of brake fluid on his bike.
All because his mate said so!
Or maybe he knows more than me...........

Not heard that one before. I remember when all the cool trials kids used to run water instead of brake fluid...

They could use cornflour/water mix instead...

They could use cornflour/water mix instead...its shear thickening not pressure thickening, so wouldn't have quite the effect your looking for, it thickens as you move it, and as brake fluid isn't realy flowing it would make little or no difference.
