Few weeks back I asked on here should I ride with my cracked side walls.
Answer was no, contact Kenda, which I did.
After a bit of faff working out who to contact, and using Facebook to get a response, a nice man at Kenda USA put me in contact with the Taiwan office.
They asked for photos, serial numbers and then said sure we will send replacements. I made a tongue in cheek suggestion that sending the 120TPI tires that can be folded would be more cost effective then the wire bead ones.
And it would appear, on the shipping invoice they have done just that.
The original Kommandos were OEM, and around 60TPI. They hadn't US man said he hadn't seen side walls crack on those tires before, they were safe to ride, but it should havent happened so contact Taiwan.
The carbon foot print on these tires is huge, having been made in Thailand, flown to the UK, and now back to Thailand again. The replacements are going Thailand, Taiwan, Thailand.
I will plant a tree to offset this.
Thank you Kenda for the very good customer service once I had located the correct person to speak to.
2x Kenda Kommando Pros just arrived
Can't argue with that service.
