Someone cheeky bugger just tried to order 10 Garmins using my wiggle account.

Credit Card company declined it but the issue is defo at Wiggle's end and they admitted as such and their fraud team will be in touch apparently.

Scary. Did they change the delivery address?

Is it internal or external fraud?

Time to change all passwords but do it from another system in case yours is bugged

Ring your banks and make them aware. Tell them not to authorise anything above a certain amount

And make sure your card details aren't stored by Wiggle, or any other retailer.

Card details aren't stores by retailers*. It's a reference that can be used in place of the card with the retailer's card processor. End result is the same as far as shopping in that site but those details can't be extracted from the retailer and used elsewhere.

* Unless they are stupid!

@ nixie - I didn't realise that, but if some is able to hack the Wiggle account, it still makes it way easier for them to make purchases? For the 30 seconds it takes me to enter my card details each time, I feel the peace of mind is worth it.

This at least the third time that Wiggle have been associated with this kind of fraud.

@ steezysix I don't disagree, I do the same as you. Hate it when a site remembers my card.

I tend to alway use PayPal with wiggle/CRC after the last CRC hack - take it I’ve not got anything to worry about?

This is the reason I use paypal and rarely create site accounts.

I have a basic bank account that I use online. No credit, no over draft. To use it I have to put money in it.  It's a pain but it's safe.

I use this for all transactions on the Internet knowing that if it gets scammed there is no money in there.

Most people I know who have been scammed use their main bank account with vast overdrafts and savings in it.

You have to protect yourself.

PayPal would be far easier and just as safe.

Not really. If you want safe and convenient amex. Any problems, just ring them, they will refund first, ask questions later. Not accepted everywhere but their customer service and add-ons are very good. All spending I do goes on mine where it can.

I have one like that, but if there's no money in it if uses your bank card. Dead handy. P something, it's called. PayFriend maybe?
