Any thoughts or experiences of these.
I was going to buy a xtr m970 but I am finding it hard to find a good second hand one.
Is the paint on the KCNC chainset durable and are the cranks as stiff as an xtr.
Help!!

They're anodised, so they'll scuff just as easily as XTR, they're unlikely to be as stiff, hardly anything is! They are lighter though.

Setting up is quite tricky due to the bb. Rings and bb's are cheap to replace if buying KCNC, but hey, if you don't replace the same it won't be as light!
Been looking at these along with converting a XTR to double and Middleburn Duos.

I've got a triple chainset and the finish seems pretty tough. they aren't as stiff as xtr but they are ok for most stuff (i'm 11 stone).

the bb imo is not very well sealed, in fact not sealed at all, and (i might be wrong but...) you cant use shimano ones as the axle is wider.

dont get me wrong i like mine but i think xtr is better. ribble have xtr for about 255 at the moment i think for a 172.5mm.

I think the kcnc ones seem really good value for money.
Is xtr totally overpriced for what it is.

nearly everyones saying the XTR is better and you still think the kcnc is better value ....

how about thinking resale too - XTR will hold value - KCNC is like buying a KIA sedona or a hyundai lantra
