...after many years using clipless, and I feel giddy. First test runs suggest that my feet are as firmly attached to the flats as they ever were to clipless, what with those studs sticking in the soles of my shoes.

i think it was for better gate acceleration.
wait, maybe not 😕 i was thinking they started with one foot down at the start

At some of the 4x events they did'nt have a gate!! 😯
